Liverpool have been linked with a deal for Real Madrid and Turkey’s youngster Arda Guler.
Arne Slot, Liverpool’s new coach, is reportedly “very interested” in signing Real Madrid and Turkey teenager Arda Guler.
Guler joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahce last summer, but he struggled in his first season in the Spanish capital, making only 12 appearances in all competitions due to injury. The 19-year-old, however, demonstrated his prestigious potential in Turkey’s Euro 2024 opening against Georgia on Tuesday, scoring three goals to lead his country to a 3-1 triumph.
However, if reports from Spain are to be believed, Guler’s performance may have pleased more than only Turkish fans, as Slot is said to be interested in signing the versatile forward from Real Madrid.
According to Estadio Deportivo, the Reds’ new head coach is “very interested” in Guler and regards him as a “important piece” of his project at Anfield. Guler has five years left on his current Real Madrid contract, but according to Team Talk, the reigning La Liga and European champions are “open” to letting the midfielder to depart this summer provided a suitable loan offer is made.
However, according to the Spanish press, Liverpool is not the only club interested in Guler this summer, with Madrid’s La Liga rivals Real Sociedad also reportedly keen.
Real Madrid, of course, signed Kylian Mbappe this summer and already has attacking talent like Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, and Rodrygo. The latter of the striking trio has also been linked with a summer move to Anfield.
