Leeds United are one of the clubs associated with Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark.
Liverpool have reportedly turned down a new bid for Bobby Clark.
Clark moved to Liverpool from Newcastle United three years ago for £1.5 million and has made remarkable progress on Merseyside. Last season, he appeared in 11 senior games, making his Premier League debut, coming off the bench in the Reds’ Carabao Cup final victory against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium, and scoring his first senior goal in a 6-1 Europa League victory over Sparta Prague.
The 19-year-old is yet to play in pre-season after suffering a back injury at the end of last season. However, he presently ranks behind Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, and Ryan Gravenberch in the midfield pecking order. At the same time, new head coach Arne Slot wants to sign Real Sociedad’s Spain international Martin Zubimendi.
As a result, Red Bull Salzburg is attempting to lure Clark to Austria, with former Reds assistant manager Pep Lijnders hoping for a reunion. According to The Athletic, Liverpool have turned down Salzburg’s latest bid of £8.2 million. The Reds believe he is worth around £12 million.
Clark has sparked loan interest from Championship clubs such as Leeds United, Coventry City, and Norwich City, but he might leave permanently if an offer deemed accepted is made. Clark has returned to training following his injury, but he did not play in Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against Sevilla and Las Palmas at Anfield on Sunday. Clark took to X (previously Twitter) on Sunday evening to share a wordless black-and-white snapshot of himself. Some supporters believe it is a method for the adolescent to hint at his goodbyes.
Liverpool have agreed on their first major sale of the summer, with Fabio Carvalho likely to join Brentford for up to £27.5 million. Slot told reporters after the Reds friendly double-header: “According to what I’ve been told, there is an agreement in place, but I haven’t spoken with our club.”
“I was fully focused today on this game, so I don’t know exactly what the status of him is, but that was, of course, the reason why he wasn’t selected today.”
