Leeds United youngster Harry Gray is allegedly on Liverpool’s radar this year, coming after the club lost Finlay Gorman to Manchester City.
Leeds are reaping the benefits of academy investment this season, with three of their top players coming from the youth ranks in Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville, and Pascal Struijk.
Others hope to break through in the coming months and years, since Daniel Farke has a track record of developing young players into promotion-winning teams.
Liverpool wants Archie Gray.
According to HITC, the Whites’ midfielder Gray is garnering interest from a number of top-flight clubs, including Liverpool.
Gray signed a new contract with Elland Road in January that will keep him there until the summer of 2028, but it appears that some of the Premier League’s most prominent clubs are still interested in signing the 17-year-old.
He stated this while participating on Leeds’ Official Podcast this week.
“I am a Leeds fan. I don’t want to be somewhere else, and I wasn’t thinking about it. I just want to play here, have fun, and help us get back where we belong.”
Liverpool are also interested in signing Harry Gray
The story also has an intriguing update: Liverpool is also interested in Archie’s younger brother, Harry Gray.
Harry is currently in the academy and is thriving as he makes his way into the U18s side this season, with Leeds already losing one potentially “generational” prospect, Finlay Gorman, to Manchester City in a move worth up to £5 million at the age of 15.
Gray has three goals in as many U18 Premier League games this season.
Leeds cannot lose another star youth.
Leeds will fight tooth and nail to ensure that Gray does not follow in Gorman’s footsteps and join Manchester City’s academy.
We have an advantage here with Gray because he has a strong family connection to the club, and he will see Archie starring in the senior side and want to emulate him.
The thought of the two brothers playing on the same team would make for an amazing story, and I’m sure Harry would think so as well.
