Leeds United won 12 of their past 13 games and moved to the top of the Championship table with a 2-0 victory over Millwall on Sunday, and Neil Harris admits the Whites deserved to win.
Harris watched his side lose 2-0, with Willy Gnonto and Dan James scoring, both assisted by Georginio Rutter. Jobi McAnuff of Sky praised the Frenchman for his second assist.
Even still, he thinks he did not play to his full potential, which is very astounding. Leeds are now equal on points with Leicester at the top of the Championship table following their win. The Foxes compete in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Despite this, Leeds are still a point clear of Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich, who defeated Sheffield Wednesday 6-0 on Saturday. Following the game, Millwall’s Harris talked with Sky Sports, praising Leeds.
“First and foremost, Leeds deserved to win this game. Let’s deal with that right immediately. No complaints. We threw up goals at critical moments, when we were on top. “Decision making was poor.”
Millwall manager Neil Harris makes Leeds allegation following Sunday’s loss.
A fantastic victory, yet as comfortable as it was remarkable. Millwall had spells, as Harris alleges, but they were never in charge or on top. Leeds dominated the entire game and deserved all three points.
Any concerns that Leeds had peaked too soon at the start of the year and would fade away are unfounded. The Whites appear to just keep cranking out performances and results in the race, causing their ranking to rise on its own.
After the international break, Leeds will face Watford, but first, many Leeds players will be playing for their country, including the Wales quartet in the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Finland.
