The most recent Leeds United news: after defeating Sheffield Wednesday, Daniel Farke’s team is now only three points behind Leicester City.

Leeds United’s victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night was another step toward their quick return to the Premier League.

At Hillsborough, goals from Wilfried Gnonto and Patrick Bamford handed the Whites the three points. Leeds is presently ranked second in the Championship standings after the victory.

With Southampton, Ipswich, and Leicester City playing on Saturday, Leeds has a chance to go back up to third position. Nonetheless, Leicester is still under pressure from above.

LeedsLive examines Leeds’ forthcoming schedule and how it stacks up against its title competitors.

    Sunday, March 17, Millwall (H)

In more than a week, Millwall will pay Leeds a visit. In his second stint with the Lions, Neil Harris has won his first two games, including an unexpected 2-1 victory at Southampton.

Leeds crushed Millwall 3-0 in September, and supporters will be hoping for a repeat performance.

    Watford (A) – March 29, Friday

Leeds travels to Vicarage Road to play midtable Watford to kick off the Easter weekend. The Hornets’ season has been uneven; they have dropped six of their last eight games in all competitions.

With any chance of a play-off finish virtually gone, Leeds will be looking to prolong their suffering.

    Hull City (H) – April 1st Monday

On Easter Monday, three days later, Leeds will host Liam Rosenior’s team at Elland Road in front of the Sky Sports cameras. Given that the Tigers are presently holding the final play-off place, this matchup is possibly the toughest of the five.

    Coventry (A) – On Saturday, April 6

we travel to Coventry City, another city hoping to qualify for the playoffs. With three points separating them from the top six, Mark Robins’ team is now in eighth place and is hoping to challenge for promotion.

Given how challenging it is to visit the Coventry Building Society Arena this season, Leeds may find the Sky Blues to be a tough task.

    Sunderland (H) – April 9, Tuesday

For Farke’s team, the games are coming thick and fast; Sunderland is up next in three days following the Coventry match. The Black Cats are trying their hardest to make it into the playoffs, much like their previous opponents.

They have, however, dropped their last four games.

    Leicester City’s upcoming five games

    Hull City (A) – March 9, Saturday

    Bristol City (A) – March 29, Friday

Monday, April 1, Norwich City (H)

    Birmingham City (H) – April 6, Saturday

    April 9th, Tuesday, Millwall (A)

The following five games for Ipswich Town

    Saturday, March 9th – Cardiff City (A)

Sheffield on Wednesday, March 16 (H)

    Blackburn Rovers (A) – March 29, Friday

Southampton, England – April 1st, Monday

    April 6th, Saturday, Norwich (A)

The following five games for Southampton

    Sunderland (H) – March 9, Saturday

    Middlesbrough (H) – March 29, Friday

Monday, April 1st, Ipswich Town (A)
