Leeds United have headed to Germany for a pre-season training camp as they boost up their preparations for the 2024/25 Championship season.
Leeds United have increased their pre-season preparations for the 2024/25 Championship by heading to Germany for a training camp. New signings Alex Cairns, Joe Rodon, and Joe Rothwell were on the plane, while Jayden Bogle will join the rest of the squad later.
The touring party included defender Max Wober, forward Brendan Aaronson, and striker Patrick Bamford. The trio missed Friday’s friendly victory over Harrogate Town. Wober and Aaronson have returned from loan periods, and Bamford is nearing full fitness after missing time with a knee injury.
Speaking after the 3-0 victory at the Exercise Stadium, manager Daniel Farke said: “Patrick clearly had minor surgery following his injury at the conclusion of last season and was doing a lot of individual rehab work. He just got back into team training this week, and this game came too soon.”
Farke hopes Bamford will be part in one of United’s warm-up games this week. “The gut feeling myself is perhaps that if is just ready for a game then it’s for the final friendly but we will see,” pointed out Farke. “It would be great to have him perhaps for a few minutes at least in one of the two games.”
Youngsters Harry Christy, James Debayo, Luca Thomas, Charlie Crew, Sam Chambers, and Harry Gray will also be looking to make an impression after being invited in the senior training camp.
