Leeds United will need to pay £8 million to recruit a ‘fantastic’ new target this summer

Leeds United are being connected with a bid for a Championship defender this summer, with sources claiming that the Whites, among other clubs, will need to spend £8 million to secure his services.

The Whites are anticipated to look for a new right back this summer. Sam Byram has signed a new one-year contract, but Jamie Shackleton’s agreement is set to expire, even if Leeds is in talks to extend it.

Connor Roberts has returned to Burnley, while Archie Gray’s future is uncertain. So Leeds need a new right-back this summer, which is expected to be a turbulent one with many players leaving.

To balance the books and comply with Financial Fairplay, the 49ers must make some signings while still turning a profit. A few discounts, freebies, and financing deals may be the order of the day.

Leeds have been linked with one Championship right-back in the previous 24 hours, and his price tag has now been revealed ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Whites set to pay £8 million to get him.

Leeds informed they need to spend £8 million on ‘outstanding’ Trai Hume.

Trai Hume is a right-back for Sunderland and Northern Ireland. The right-sided star has been a regular for The Black Cats in recent years, appearing in all league games last season.

Whether it was at right-back, left-back, center-back, or even midfield. Naturally, the “exceptional” defender is a right-back, and if the 49ers can sign him, he would be an excellent addition to Leeds.

According to reports, a trade will be difficult to complete because Aston Villa, Leicester, Napoli, and Bournemouth are all interested. According to the Belfast Telegraph, Leeds and those clubs will need to invest £8 million to sign him.

Max Aarons might play a vital role in Leeds’ move to sign Hume.

Hume will be aware that a move to Aston Villa or Napoli would result in him becoming a backup player, and the presence of Ricardo Pereira and James Justin at Leicester suggests that this may be the case.

Bournemouth may be Hume’s best option this summer, but the Cherries also have a right-back in the form of £12 million signing Max Aarons. A player who nearly joined Leeds a year ago.

Indeed, The Cherries hijacked a Leeds approach for Aarons, with Daniel Farke hopeful of a reunion with the former Norwich City player. If Bournemouth are the best-placed team, Aarons may persuade Hume to select Leeds.
