Leeds United are interested in signing Fenerbahce striker Michy Batshuayi on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to Aksam.
According to the Turkish news outlet’s website (14 March), the Whites have emerged as a potential destination for the Belgium international, whose contract in Istanbul expires this summer.
Leeds are also “expected to knock on Fenerbahce’s door” after the season is over, with the one-time Premier League champion set to leave Turkey ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Leeds United seeks a Premier League-proven striker.
Daniel Farke has successfully navigated the Championship, drawing on his previous experience at Norwich.
However, with promotion to the Premier League appearing possible based on recent form, the club must plan accordingly and cannot afford to be without a reliable goalscorer in the team.
Leeds have seen goals spread equally across the squad this season, but without a dedicated number nine to lead the charge, they will undoubtedly struggle in the top division again.
Batshuayi won the Premier League with Chelsea, scoring the winning goal, but he never really enjoyed his time in the top division.
Having said that, he has scored goals everywhere he has played when given the opportunity, and his international record is also impressive. If they succeed, this may be a huge coup for the Whites.
