According to Nancy Froston, Everton are close to signing Jack Harrison on another loan contract from Leeds United.

According to Froston’s article in The Athletic [19 June], Harrison is set to return to Goodison Park on loan for a second year, with Everton covering the midfielder’s salary but Leeds receiving no loan fee.

Harrison was one of several loanees set to return to Thorp Arch for pre-season, but the club wants to transfer any players who are surplus to needs before the end of the month to guarantee they fulfill PSR standards.

Leeds United strikes a bittersweet agreement for Jack Harrison.

From Leeds United’s perspective, the proposed second loan arrangement for Harrison to continue with Everton is bittersweet.

While Daniel Farke and the club did not intend to keep the 27-year-old in the Championship next season, not receiving a loan fee to boost the club’s finances for the month is not ideal.

The bright lining for the Whites is that Harrison will be fully removed from the pay bill for the upcoming season, as the Toffees are reported to bear full responsibility.

Regardless of any potential financial setbacks for Leeds, this transfer at least represents getting business done early, as Farke will want his squad together as soon as possible – which may be difficult given some of the players the club may have to trade.

An fascinating and possibly frustrating one with Harrison, but Leeds now know where they stand.
