Leeds United versus Rotherham United: Daniel Farke announces injury update and team news in press conference

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke hold his pre-match press conference this afternoon, ahead of Rotherham United’s visit to Elland Road on Saturday, February 10.

The Millers are bottom of the Championship table, 12 points from safety, while Leeds are in contention for automatic promotion after going unbeaten at the start of the year.

Farke’s team is yet to lose a game in 2024 and is likely to add to its matchday roster this weekend when Connor Roberts becomes eligible for the first time since his deadline day loan move. The Burnley full-back was not registered in time to represent Leeds at Bristol City last Friday and was unable to play in the FA Cup Fourth Round replay against Plymouth Argyle in midweek because he was not a United player at the time of the first match.

Roberts will have to replace incumbent right-back Archie Gray, but he is anticipated to start on the bench against South Yorkshire tomorrow afternoon.

Farke is also expected to offer his usual injury and fitness updates on Pascal Struijk and Daniel James, both of whom the German hopes to return to the matchday squad in the coming games. Struijk has been out since the defeat to West Bromwich Albion on December 28, and James, who was nominated for Championship Player of the Month last month, has missed a few games due to a minor adductor injury. Given the form of Willy Gnonto, who has scored in back-to-back games, he may struggle to return to Farke’s starting lineup right away.

    Updates from Farke’s news conference

Before their match at Elland Road, Rotherham United has only won once out of 18 games. The Millers are battling at the bottom of the table and look destined to return to League One unless they can dramatically improve their fortunes in the final part of the season.

The club has four points on the road this season. 14 away Championship games resulted in no wins, four ties, and 10 defeats. Leeds are unbeaten at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke speaks on the following Points:

    – Injuries to Pascal Struijk and Dan James

    – Jamie Shackleton’s illness.

    – Rotherham United

    – FA Cup Fifth Round vs. Chelsea

    – Which other farm animals should be afraid when Joe Gelhardt is present?

    – Connor Roberts’ availability
