Everton will focus their attention to Leeds United wideman Jack Harrison after signing Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa.
Everton will now focus on landing another loan agreement for Leeds United striker Jack Harrison following their initial foray into the summer transfer market.
The Toffees, who were slapped by a Premier League points deduction last year for breaching financial fair play regulations, have a limited budget available for boss Sean Dyche this summer. However, after paying £9 million to sign teenage midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano believes that they are now looking to bring Harrison back for a second loan term.
Following Leeds’ relegation from the Premier League, the former Manchester City wideman signed a temporary agreement at Goodison Park last summer. After recovering from a hip injury, the 27-year-old became a crucial member of Dyche’s team, appearing in 35 games across all competitions, scoring four goals and assisting on three others.
Harrison’s future is presently uncertain, as Leeds must find finances after failing to earn promotion back to the Premier League. Manager Daniel Farke has already stated that returning loanee Brenden Aaronson will be a part of his squad next season, but he must make some important decisions about who else will return to Elland Road this summer.
Marc Roca is expected to join Real Betis, while Borussia Monchengladbach wants to maintain Max Wober following a season-long loan; nonetheless, major decisions must be made regarding Rasmus Kristensen, Diego Llorente, and Harrison. Leeds would like to get transfer fees for any player leaving the club, but they understand that a loan agreement would keep Harrison as a Leeds player if they are promoted back to the top flight this season.
“Everton have completed a deal to sign Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam for a fee of around £9 million; medical to follow,” Romano said on social media site X. “Next up: Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds Utd.”
After an initial loan move, Harrison joined Leeds United for about £11m in 2021 and had made 206 appearances for the club, scoring 34 goals.
