Leeds United is reportedly one of the clubs generating a commotion over PSV’s talks to recruit Excelsior winger Couhaib Driouech, who is seeking for a move this month.
Leeds’ transfer efforts this summer will be critical in securing promotion back to the Premier League at the second attempt.
Attacking additions are required, as it appears that sales will be finalized in the following weeks of the summer.
Leeds are interested in Excelsior winger Couhaib Driouech.
According to Dutch outlet VoetbalZone, Leeds are one of ten clubs hoping to recruit Excelsior winger Couhaib Driouech.
The 22-year-old caught the eye in the Eredivisie this season, scoring eight goals and assisting eight times throughout all competitions in 23/24.
Driouech’s talks with PSV had progressed significantly recently, with his stance continuing that he would prefer to join the Dutch top flight winners, but they have now stagnated due to increased interest from Elland Road and elsewhere.
According to reports, the asking price for the team that was demoted via the playoffs earlier this month is between €3.5-4 million (£2.96-£3.38 million).
Sevilla, led by Victor Orta, is one of the other teams interested in signing the Moroccan winger during the summer transfer window, casting doubt on PSV’s chances of securing him.
Driouech would be a solid complement to Leeds’ many possibilities.
Leeds’ main problem this summer will be to replace Crysencio Summerville, and signing a young, energetic winger from the Netherlands is a good way to do it.
Driouech had the fastest sprint speed in the Eredivisie this season (34.55km/h), which represents a significant advantage.
Daniel Farke will want his wide men to be trickier and more capable of carrying the ball, especially if Summerville’s brilliance is lost.
