Willy Gnonto at the center of ‘Terrible’ moment vs Millwall
Chris Iwelumo reacted to Casper De Norre’s “terrible” challenge on Willy Gnonto, which went unpunished against Millwall.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (8 February, 12:40pm), the former Scotland international believed the referee should have punished the Millwall midfielder.
Gnonto played 80 minutes in the defeat, which was a significant disappointment for Farke’s side on home grounds.
Leeds injury bombshell drops ahead of Watford meeting.
Farke stated that three of Leeds’ first-choice players are nursing “a few knocks” ahead of their game against Watford on Tuesday.
Speaking after his team’s FA Cup exit, Farke stated that two players who were absent from the matchday squad were not at risk.
Daniel James and Joe Rodon were two of the regulars missing from the matchday roster, while Joel Piroe came on as a late substitute, with Mateo Joseph starting up front in his stead.
Farke informed reporters that “Rodon and James had knocks.” Not completely recovered. Nothing foolish today. Joel Piroe takes a few blows. It makes no sense to risk anything today. [We] hope to have them back by Tuesday.
FA to initiate probe after what transpired in Leeds v Millwall
The FA is poised to investigate after Leeds confirmed that tragedy chants were heard from Millwall fans throughout the game, and the Championship teams will liaise with the police to identify those guilty.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Hackett, the former PGMOL chief and FIFA referee, said that the FA will also investigate the chanting.
“The claims of unacceptable chants will be investigated by The FA and they are likely to ask the police for their observations,” according to him.
Leeds United complete out-of-the-window goalkeeper transfer
Leeds continue to add to their squad despite the winter transfer window closing on February 3rd.
The Whites did not sign any first-team players in January, despite the fact that they needed to reinforce to improve their chances of Premier League promotion.
However, the club stated that young goalkeeper Robbie Cook had signed a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The signing of Cook is a strategic move that strengthens the club’s goalkeeping department.
