Dan James and Daniel Farke have been nominated for the Championship’s January awards for their contributions in helping Leeds United recover from their dismal December run.
The Whites endured three consecutive away defeats either side of Christmas, which raised some concerns about their promotion chances, but they have started 2024 with a spotless league record.
Leeds won all four January Championship games, with a 9-1 goal differential.
James was a huge part of it, scoring three goals in January and assisting three times before suffering a hip flexor injury in the win over Norwich.
This is why he faces Morgan Whittaker of Plymouth Argyle, Watford goalkeeper Ben Hamer, and Southampton midfielder Stuart Armstrong.
Farke might win his second managerial award in three months, but like his team’s drive for automatic promotion, he faces heavy competition from the Saints.
Russell Martin’s team has been unbeaten in the league since September, so it’s no surprise that he’s in the running, even if they lost one of their three games.
Mark Robins, the former manager of Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, and Rotherham United, and Ian Foster of Plymouth Argyle are the other contenders.
The January winners will be announced on Friday.
