Leeds United is angry by what some rival teams have done after they sold Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha

Leeds United’s relegation rivals from last season all appear to be under investigation under PSR regulations.

The Premier League has already punished and deducted six points from Everton, but they, along with Nottingham Forest, could face another sanction.

Leicester City, who were relegated alongside Leeds, are now expected to be fined and may even begin next season with minus points if they win promotion.

As previously said, all three clubs were fighting for survival with Leeds last season, therefore the Whites have every right to feel upset, assuming that they followed the regulations.

In fact, according to the Athletic, many behind the scenes are extremely angry with their competitors since they did not sell crucial players in the same way that Leeds did with Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.

Leeds upset with rivals after Phillips and Raphinha sales.

Leeds had almost avoided relegation on the penultimate day of the previous season, so selling their finest two players was always going to be tricky.

According to The Athletic, Leeds made almost £90 million in sales from the two players, with £42 million coming as pure profit from academy graduate Phillips’ transfer to City.

Leeds’ whole transfer window that summer was funded by key players leaving, but reinforcements were required throughout the pitch, thus many players were brought in as replacements.

Ultimately, those who came in were not good enough, and Leeds was relegated, with Willy Gnonto being the only player still at Elland Road, with the rest either sold or loaned.

If promotion is accomplished, Leeds must be considerably more strategic in their recruitment, but you would certainly put more trust in people behind the scenes now than Victor Orta.
