According to injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar, Leeds United midfielder Stuart Dallas is still anticipated to remain out for several weeks because he has not fully healed.

The Northern Irishman has not played since the beginning of 2022, when he shattered his femur against Manchester City in the Premier League.

Brar believes he might have returned in January if things had gone as planned, and that he will need a lot of games to restore match sharpness.

In an exclusive interview with MOT Leeds News, Brar, a Physical Therapist and Sports Scientist, stated about Dallas:

“Initially, there was hope that he might be able to return in January after breaking his femur, but that has not happened.

“This seems like a player who required a significant and prolonged increase in fitness following a rare but serious injury.

“Based on how long he has been in individual training, I believe the club will give him a lot of bounce matches and short bursts of minutes to measure his recuperation.

“He still looks weeks away from returning and it’s hard to state what stage of his rehab is ongoing at this moment.”

The 32-year-old’s contract at Elland Road expires at the end of the season, and it’s unclear what’s next for him.

Clubs typically allow players to remain on the team until they complete their rehabilitation, and Dallas is anticipated to do the same given his importance behind the scenes in recent years.

Hopefully, this is not the end of his career, and he will return to playing professional football when he is ready, whether at Leeds or elsewhere.
