Leeds United have been told they can sign Middlesbrough’s Emmanuel Latte Lath on one condition in January

Leeds United are involved in a transfer saga with Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath, with new details emerging every day.

Leeds are hoping to acquire four players in January, with a striker being identified as a position of interest for Daniel Farke.

The Whites now have Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph as alternatives, but Farke will aim to enhance his roster with Emmanuel Latte Lath.

Latte Lath is being evaluated by Leeds United as the Middlesbrough player has been a source of interest for the Yorkshire-based team.

Boro are hoping for a £15 million fee, and with Leeds interested in signing him in January, Farke’s side may be willing to satisfy that demand.

Leeds United want Emmanuel Latte Lath ‘now’ in £20m claim

Transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, has told Leeds United News the latest on the situation of Leeds’ interest in Latte Lath.

Farke is keen on a striker and it seems as though Leeds will look to sign the Boro star, but they will have to decide when they want to make the big decision.

“Latte Lath is an interesting one. January one [Leeds want him now]. Why would they want him in the summer?

“If Leeds give more than £20m for him, it would take £20m to get him.

“He reminds me of Leroy Lita, a good Championship striker from the lower levels of the Premier League. He is who he is. If you sign him, score three goals, and get promoted, it’s worth it, right?”

Latte Lath can surpass Leroy Lita in comparison with Leeds’ move.

Lita was a competent Championship striker who played for Bristol City, Reading, and Boro.

However, Latte Lath has demonstrated his ability to be consistent, something Lita lacked, and by joining Leeds, he can erupt in the Championship and lead the club back to the Premier League.

He’s been a success under Michael Carrick at Boro, but with his side certain to reach the play-offs at best, a Leeds switch might be made more appealing by the promise of Premier League action.

It works both ways; Farke potentially missing out on the Ivorian implies he will fail to get promoted.

West Ham has dropped its interest in Latte Lath, therefore now could be the best time for Leeds to strike.
