Leeds United’s second goal against Rotherham at Elland Road wowed Lee Hendrie, who praised Daniel Farke’s side as “absolutely magnificent” live on Sky Sports.

The former Aston Villa midfielder was impressed by the overall move, which saw Junior Firpo, Georginio Rutter, and Crysencio Summerville all contribute to Leeds’ two-goal lead.
Farke’s squad finally won 3-0 courtesy to another goal by Summerville, confirming Hendrie’s high plaudits for a great performance at Elland Road.

Commenting live on Sky Sports News [10 February, 16:17], Hendrie said, “What a goal. Leeds leads 2–0, with Summerville scoring. They get the ball back on the left side of the pitch in their own half with a superb challenge from Firpo, and they attack swiftly, just like Leeds.

“Summerville drives it from the halfway line, a little slip into Rutter, he rides a challenge and slips the ball through [Sean] Morrison’s knees back to Summerville, he takes a touch, Viktor Johansson comes out, and he simply toe-pokes it past him. What a finish.

“Leeds have been absolutely magnificent, and it’s well-deserved, 2-0.”

Leeds United are flying after the win against Rotherham.

The fight for automatic promotion from the Championship has officially begun, and Leeds are flying high to put themselves in the best possible position to seize second place, which now belongs to Southampton.

With players like Summerville and Rutter on the team, Leeds will always have a chance to outscore their opponents; even when they are not at their best, they have the talent to set them apart from other Championship sides, as they demonstrated against Rotherham tonight.

Daniel Farke’s side is aiming for promotion.
Having both of them, combined with their amazing run of success, has caused many commentators to predict Leeds as favourites to win promotion, but with Southampton putting pressure on them, it may not be as simple as it appears.

The Saints are now in second place, keeping Leeds at bay, and have gone unbeaten in 22 Championship games, with Leeds needing to match their record in order to keep up.

Despite a downturn in form, Ipswich are still in the mix and will be trying to get back into contention throughout the rest of the season to compete with the relegated Premier League sides.
