Leeds United fans should be buzzing with The Athletic’s new Sky Sports reveal—View

Leeds United and the other of the EFL’s clubs will have their fixtures set far in advance on TV scheduling terms for next season.

The Whites have proven to be the most commercially successful team in the Championship whenever they are in the division, frequently being the topic of televised games that are shifted at short notice.

Sky Sports is in charge of determining who gets on TV each week in the EFL, and their decision to have Leeds on more often than not never sits well with fans who travel across the nation at inconvenient times.

The Athletic reveals significant Sky Sports changes for Leeds and EFL clubs.

In connection with the release of the EFL matches this week, The Athletic have provided an important update on the upcoming season.

They announced on Tuesday that the EFL has modified the way in which broadcasters are able to schedule televised games, meaning that the first half of the season would be moved about for Sky Sports’ package all at once.

“The official fixture list will be issued on Wednesday, June 26 at 9 a.m.

Leeds fans will be excited with the new Sky Sports and EFL update.

Sky Sports’ attempts to muffle a certain chant ringing across Elland Road and away ends during Leeds’ broadcast games tells you all you need to know about the annoyance with relocating games, not least moving them late notice.

Fans make plans to watch the club across the country months in advance, using a faulty national transportation network that does not appreciate passengers changing their plans at the last minute, and they are more than justified in voicing their displeasure to broadcasters who have made it clear that match-going fans come last.

However, this is a fantastic update for Leeds fans and every other EFL match-goer, as they will have plenty of time to pencil each game into their calendars without missing out on train and hotel bookings, or flights for those traveling from abroad, as happens every week for Leeds.

Leeds can’t really stop Sky from scheduling a Wednesday night away game in the South West of England followed by a Saturday afternoon away game, but knowing it’s occurring in July rather than a month in advance is fantastic.
