Dan Toulson has earned his first professional contract with Leeds United after playing a significant role in the club’s run to the FA Youth Cup final.
Leeds United have agreed to a maiden professional contract with one of last season’s FA Youth Cup winners. Dan Toulson has signed a one-year contract with the Whites, two months after playing an important role on the left side of the under-18s defence in the May final.
The 18-year-old played every minute of that famous competition, impressing with his flexibility and leadership. Toulson also impressed Scott Gardner’s Under-21s, and United are looking to sign him to his first professional contract as he continues to improve.
According to a club statement, “Leeds United are delighted to announce Dan Toulson has signed his first professional contract with the club.” The 18-year-old has signed a one-year contract to continue his development at Thorp Arch until 2025.
Toulson was a flexible defensive option last season, playing as a holding midfielder, centre-half, and left-back for both the Whites’ under-18 and under-21 teams. Toulson, who had played every minute of our last FA Youth Cup campaign, joyfully led his team-mates out at the Etihad Stadium as they advanced to the prestigious competition’s final.

More contract deals with the club’s young players are expected to be announced within the next 24 hours. On Tuesday, Reuben Lopata-White’s first professional deal, Harry Christy’s new contract, and Joe Richards’ first contract were all announced.
