Leeds United can now sign a player on loan with an option after West Ham declined the opportunity

Leeds United are interested in signing Mergim Berisha from TSG Hoffenheim, who has been offered to West Ham United.

According to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, the 26-year-old was recently offered to West Ham but turned it down.

West Ham’s rebuff can allow Leeds to attempt and sign the striker in the winter market. Sky reports, as conveyed by Laola1, that the Whites are interested in Berisha.

The Germany international joined the Bundesliga side from FC Augsburg in August 2023 and has played 743 minutes in 24 games, including 17 this season.

He found it tough to add goals [he has scored one] when given the opportunity and plans to leave teams in January. Hoffenheim is also in favour of the frontman’s exit, as their €14 million investment in him has plainly not paid off.

Leeds and Werder Bremen are reportedly interested in Berisha, who is also being pursued by AC Monzo. According to the report, he might leave Hoffenheim on a loan with the option to buy.
