Leeds United are competing Sheffield United and Burnley for Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan this month, as Crysencio Summerville is set to sign with West Ham.
Leeds did not appear to require much in the way of forward recruitment during July, since the club retained the group of players that helped them score 90 points last season.
However, Crysencio Summerville’s departure was widely expected, and as he approaches a £25 million departure from West Ham, replacements are needed.
Leeds wants Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.
According to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, Leeds are one of the clubs interested in Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi as a replacement for the departing Dutchman.
A loan move for Leeds would be in the works, with the brilliant 21-year-old still highly regarded at Selhurst Park despite opting out of their pre-season USA tour, and Burnley and Sheffield United are also interested.
European and Premier League clubs, including Anderlecht and Lyon, are also interested in the right-winger, although Southampton are thought to be considering a permanent deal rather than a loan:
Rak-Sakyi struggled to find playing time in 23/24 as Palace’s explosive front line dominated the headlines, but his most recent loan spell at Charlton Athletic in League One in 22/23 was brilliant, with 15 goals and eight assists.
Rak-Sakyi would be an excellent signing to improve Leeds’ unbalanced assault.
Last season, Leeds would simply send the ball to Summerville at every opportunity, hoping he’d have the magic to get us out of trouble.
While losing him substantially weakens our attack, it also gives us the option to balance our side with a new signing or two.
Rak-Sakyi would be an excellent start to that replacement job, as he would provide us with a natural right-winger who could drift in from that channel and allow Jayden Bogle to fly forward on the overlap.
