According to Football Insider, Leeds United officials are not considering parting ways with manager Daniel Farke if the club fails to achieve promotion this season.
On Friday (26 April), the Whites suffered a 4-0 defeat against Queens Park Rangers, the latest twist in the race for automatic promotion.
Leeds are second in the Championship, although they are level on points with Ipswich Town, who have a game in hand over Farke’s side.
The Yorkshire giants have lost their promotion hopes, with Ipswich needing four points to finish second.
The playoffs, which begin in mid-May, might pit Leeds against Southampton, West Brom, Norwich, or Hull City.
Leeds United will not sack Farke if their promotion push fails.
Even if Farke fails to bring his club back to the Premier League, a reliable source has told Football Insider that there will be “no thoughts” of firing the 47-year-old in the boardroom at Elland Road.
Leeds chiefs have been impressed by the German’s performance, particularly during the 15-match undefeated streak at the start of 2024, which drew them back into the title chase.
Farke is currently under contract with the Whites until June 2027.
The Whites have won only one of their previous five Championship games, with their final second-tier fixture against Southampton on Saturday (4 May).
Leeds has won 27 of its 45 league games so far in the 2023-24 season.
Farke has twice led Norwich City to promotion from the Championship after winning the league title.
