According to Football Insider, Patrick Bamford is expected to stay at Leeds United after the transfer window closes.
Bamford has a strained connection with Leeds fans, and despite Georginio Ruter and Crysencio Summerville’s departures, he was replaced by Mateo Joseph in Saturday’s goalless draw against West Bromwich Albion.
The 30-year-old has no clear buyer in the current market, which is one of the reasons he’ll stay at Elland Road.
The striker is thought to be a high earner at the West Yorkshire club, and he has two years left on his contract.
Bamford joined Leeds in 2018 and has been a regular since then, both in the Premier League and the Championship.
The striker is yet to open his account this season, having appeared as a substitute in the opening two league games.
Leeds United will continue to give Patrick Bamford an opportunity.
Regardless of how some Leeds fans perceive him, Bamford has been an important member of the squad since joining the club.
Bamford has made 190 appearances for the Whites across all competitions, scoring 60 goals and assisting 22 times.
The striker made 36 appearances last season as the club barely missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
Despite Bamford staying at Elland Road for the upcoming season, Leeds are still looking to sign another forward before the transfer window closes.
Football Insider reported that the Whites could re-sign Jack Clarke after he turned down a new contract at Sunderland.
