The Sunday Mirror reports that Leeds United want to sign Jack Clarke as a substitute for Georginio Rutter.
On August 18 (page 69), the newspaper said that the Whites will compete with Southampton and Lazio for the 23-year-old.
Following Rutter’s departure, Daniel Farke hopes to lure the winger back to Elland Road after he left for Tottenham in a £10 million move in 2019.
Leeds United wants Jack Clarke back.
Leeds have had a tumultuous summer after being forced to play another season in the Championship.
This has resulted in the departure of several prominent individuals, including Rutter, Archie Gray, and Crysencio Summerville.
The Whites want to bring Clarke back to Elland Road in an effort to improve their attacking options.
Marcelo Bielsa was a big supporter of the winger during his time at the club, telling Football London in September 2019: “Technically, he is complete, and his attitude today is very good.”
After a disappointing stay with Spurs, the former Stoke City loanee has thrived at Sunderland, becoming one of the division’s top performers.
Although the 23-year-old is not a straight replacement for Summerville or Gnonto, he would undoubtedly improve Farke’s team.
