Leeds could potentially sign a player with extensive Championship experience on a free transfer.
Daniel Farke must raise spirits around Elland Road and rekindle passion for the 2024/25 season, as the Whites attempt a second promotion after losing the Championship Play-Off Final to Southampton.
Leeds could secure a free transfer to strengthen their attacking department, as several players, like Crysencio Summerville, face uncertain futures.
Leeds Eye Bobby De Cordova–Reid
TEAMtalk reports that Leeds could sign Bobby De Cordova-Reid on a free transfer.
The Jamaica international was in talks with Fulham about extending his contract at Craven Cottage, where he has played since signing on loan from Cardiff in August 2019.
However, negotiations for a new two-year contract have broken down, and TEAMtalk believe De Cordova-Reid is now ready to leave the Cottagers.
TEAMtalk adds that Leeds are interested in signing the 31-year-old after Jaidon Anthony returned to Bournemouth at the end of his loan stay, while the Whites are expected to offload Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto.
De Cordova-Reid shined for Fulham in the 2023/24 season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 41 games across all competitions.
The Bristol native can play wherever on the frontline and, if necessary, at right back.
TBR Football understands Everton are also interested in signing De Cordova-Reid on a free move.
Experience could benefit Daniel Farke.
In terms of free agents, De Cordova-Reid is an extremely appealing option for Championship clubs this summer.
The Fulham No.14 has extensive experience in England’s second division, having appeared in 192 Championship games, scoring 39 goals and assisting 22 others.
Of course, De Cordova-Reid’s potential arrival would not be enough to ease the pain of losing a star such as Summerville or Gnonto, but in a difficult market financially, it would be a very sensible summer deal.
