Following Crystal Palace’s rejection of a £7 million deal, Sheffield United is on the verge of signing Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan ahead of Leeds United, as reported by the Standard.
On August 8, the publication said that the Blades had agreed to pay £1 million as well as the 21-year-old’s entire season’s salary.
The winger was wanted by the Whites, but the Eagles decided to take a loan when Southampton’s £7 million offer was turned down.
The absence of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Leeds United
A wide option is desperately needed at Elland Road for Daniel Farke, since Crysencio Summerville has completed his move to West Ham.
Leeds does have some good players in certain spots, such as Wilfried Gnonto and Dan James, but depth might be a problem.
In light of this, the Whites considered recruiting Rak-Sakyi, who has established himself as a top player in League One with Charlton Athletic.
The former England U20 international resided at Selhurst Park during the previous season, however he saw very little playing time under Roy Hodgson and Oliver Glasner.
Due to this, Palace has attempted to let the young player go, albeit they do not appear eager to do so permanently.
For Farke and company, a deal worth £7 million would have been ideal, but if Leeds get promoted, a loan would almost certainly help a prospective rival.
While Rak-Sakyi was a fan favorite at Elland Road, Jonathan Rowe and other targets would be a better fit.
