Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has intimated that Jaidon Anthony may miss another game against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday, as reported by The Athletic’s Phil Hay on X.
The winger, who is on loan from AFC Bournemouth, also missed the last game against Stoke City.
The Whites travel to Hillsborough on March 8th, looking to keep their push for automatic promotion from the Championship on track.
They defeated the Potters 1-0 on Tuesday night, with winger Dan James netting the winner in the first half.
Journalist Hay gave the newest team news surrounding the club on X (6 March): “Expect the same lineup as yesterday’s game. This indicates that Jaidon Anthony will miss out again. “No major concerns following Stoke’s victory.”
Jaidon Anthony to miss Leeds United’s game against Sheffield Wednesday
Leeds suffers another setback with Anthony’s absence. He provides them with valuable competition and depth on the wing, and his speed is an effective weapon in games.
Nonetheless, they have a great attacking depth, with players like James, who will be confidence after scoring against Stoke, and Wilfried Gnonto ready to come up again.
Anthony joined the Whites on a temporary basis last summer and was allowed to leave Bournemouth to get experience in the second tier. He has made 24 league appearances this season and scored once.
Sheffield Wednesday will be difficult opponents for Leeds as they struggle for their survival at the bottom of the league. They remain in the relegation zone, but have won their last four games in a row under manager Danny Rohl.
