Leeds are looking to sign two Tottenham players (The Athletic)

Leeds United may be willing to sell Archie Gray this summer and replace him with Tottenham Hotspur’s Oliver Skipp, according to The Athletic.

The publication said (13 June) that the Whites have PSR issues and must contemplate entering the transfer window.

This could push Daniel Farke to trade players like Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville, while Leeds may also try to cash in on Gray.

If a midfielder is required at Elland Road, Skipp might be “a player of interest” with a move from Tottenham on the cards, in addition to a bid for Joe Rodon.

Leeds United could trade Archie Gray for Oliver Skipp.

Leeds fans will be hoping to avoid losing Gray this summer following such a spectacular debut season for his hometown club in the Championship.

His versatility contributed significantly to the Whites’ squad, which accumulated 90 points and was extremely unlucky not to be promoted automatically.

After losing to Southampton in the Play-Off final at Wembley, financial issues became apparent as another season in the second division was secured.

Sales will be required this summer if Farke want to make any summer expansions, and the hierarchy will need to balance the accounts for PSR purposes.

Summerville and Rutter have high appraisals and might command hefty fees, whereas Gray is a native star who has already proven himself at the age of 18.

This could lure large clubs to sign him, leaving Leeds in a position where they may be obliged to sell.

Bringing Skipp in as a replacement may be a wise commercial decision, but losing Gray after just one complete campaign will be frustrating.
