Latte Lath to Leeds: ‘£18m deal on the table’ for Middlesbrough

According to Football Insider, Leeds United will need to match Middlesbrough’s £18 million offer to sign Emanuel Latte Lath in January.

On the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior writer Pete O’Rourke disclosed that Atlanta United in the MLS has offered the 26-year-old £18 million.

That is regarded a “huge” fee, allowing Michael Carrick to reinvest in the squad and expand his choices.

According to reliable sources, Atlanta United’s proposal will put Lath out of reach for many other clubs interested in his services, including Leeds.

To buy the Ivory Coast international, the Yorkshire giants had to sell one of their own players to raise finances.

Leeds had considered this, but they will now need to fund at least £18 million to compete with Atlanta United.

Leeds United may have to move on from Latte Lath.

Leeds are trying to enhance their squad during the January transfer window in order to challenge for promotion back to the Premier League this season.

However, it is anticipated that the Whites would search for a top loan signing to enhance their attacking options.

The need to do so may increase if Leeds sell Wilfried Gnonto this month, as Football Insider reports that the winger is a target for many Saudi Pro League clubs.

According to Football Insider, West Ham are keeping an eye on Lath, as are other Premier League clubs Ipswich Town and Leicester City.

This season, the striker has 10 goals and two assists in 26 appearances for Middlesbrough in the Championship.
