According to Kieran Maguire, Leeds United’s latest records show record revenue and an operational loss of £105 million.
The football finance guru tweeted on Wednesday (10 April) that player sales decreased the Whites’ total losses to £34 million in 2022/23.
The club stated that their turnover increased from £189.2 million in 2021/22 to £189.7 million in the most recent set of accounts.
Leeds United recorded tolerable losses.
It would be cause for serious concern if Leeds suffered a loss of more than £100 million in a single year as a result of the tight financial reporting requirements.
Several clubs have fallen foul of the red line in recent months, including Everton and Nottingham Forest, which both received point deductions.
However, after recouping a significant amount of money from player sales, the Whites’ losses in the most recent era were manageable.
This season, the team has also done some clever business to avoid overspending while remaining competitive in their push for promotion.
Daniel Farke’s side would need to be strengthened if they were to make a speedy return to the Premier League, but they have numerous players on loan who might be sold to balance the books.
