According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Burnely is a team to keep an eye on as the race for Bryan Gil’s signature heats up in the last days of the transfer window.
Gil’s prospects of playing for Tottenham have dwindled even more after the club signed Timo Werner earlier this month, and Manor Solomon is also expected to return from injury (Telegraph).
It is therefore not surprising that the winger is being linked with yet another loan transfer away from Hotspur Way ahead of the February 1 deadline.
It has been widely reported in recent weeks that Lazio are interested in signing the 22-year-old (Quotidiano Sportivo), but in recent days, it has surfaced that the player is also being pursued by Premier League clubs.
In reality, on January 25, the print edition of Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) reported that Brighton and Brentford had already begun talks with Spurs about a temporary deal for the Spaniard.
Is Bryan Gil planning a move to Burnley?
Jacobs has now revealed that Tottenham are listening to bids for Gil, but he also stated that there is ‘nothing advanced’ with Lazio at the moment.
Interestingly, the writer mentioned Fenerbahce as a potential suitor for the Spurs player, as well as Burnley.
Jacobs told The Last Word on Spurs podcast: “With Gil, there is a willingness to listen to offers; Fenerbahce is interested, so another Turkish move; nothing advanced with Lazio.”
“There are some proposals, but nothing further with Lazio. According to sources, there may be some late Premier League interest, so I’d keep an eye on Burnley.
