Nottingham Forest have rejected down a Palmeiras offer for striker Ramón Sosa, despite the player becoming restless with a lack of minutes.
That is according to writer Christian Martin, who spoke with Somos Paraguay, who revealed everything about the offer made to Nottingham Forest.
Sosa has played a supporting role under Nuno Espirito Santo at Nottingham Forest this season, with the continued good form of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antony Elanga keeping him out of the team as they aim for a top-four finish.
The Paraguayan has taken this well, making a positive impression despite his limited minutes this season.
That never occurred, and he stayed put, but the 25-year-old’s condition hasn’t improved, with him failing to make a single Premier League appearance in February and being left out of the team for the FA Cup triumph over Ipswich.
That absence was particularly noticeable, and Martin admits patience is running thin, especially because Palmeiras has made an offer for him.
“On the side of the English club, they say patience. Now it appears that Ramón is neither 20 nor 19 years old. His patience is beginning to wear thin. “To the point where I would not rule out Ramón leaving,” he remarked.
“Palmeiras wanted to buy Ramón Sosa. The figure was high, Palmeiras has money, Brazilian football has good purchasing power. And the club rejected it, the Greek owners rejected the deal.
“It was, I think it was even more money for Ramón, but he wants to stay in the Premier League. It seems to me that Ramón is going to have attention from big clubs in the Premier League to depart in the summer break if this issue does not improve.
“He wants to stay in the Premier League. Ramón appears to be destined for the Premier League; he was not meant to play for Palmeiras.”
