Jamie Carragher has given his predictions for the Championship match between Leeds United and Cardiff City this weekend.
In their most recent FA Cup match, the Whites defeated Peterborough 3-0 in the third round, while Cardiff were thrashed 4-0 by Sheffield Wednesday.
And, in his Super 6 predictions (11 January), Sky Sports pundit Carragher believes the Whites will maintain their upward trend in away play with a 2-1 victory in Wales.
Must win
The promotion race is tight this year, as it always is, and Leeds’ minor hiccup in form during the Christmas season means they must go on a winning streak again.
With only two wins in the last six Championship games, the squad has allowed competitors to tighten the gap, making massive victories over Leicester and Ipswich relatively meaningless.
Cardiff isn’t having a bad season either, and they know a win over Leeds would significantly improve their chances of promotion, so the team must be prepared to play.
Daniel Farke has allowed players to leave this window, but no one has come in as of this writing, making the squad weaker.
Now they must justify why they were chosen over the other possibilities and why further options are not required in their position before the window shuts, and perhaps they will be able to prove Mr. Carragher correct.
