‘It’s merely a rumour’: TalkSPORT reporter makes intriguing assertion about Nottingham Forest

TalkSPORT reporter Paul Hawksbee made an intriguing claim about Nottingham Forest live on air this afternoon.

This comes after Forest lost four points for violating FFP requirements. The Reds are now 18th in the Premier League, one point from safety.

So, what has Hawksbee stated that is sure to capture the attention of Forest supporters? Let’s look more closely.

What Paul Hawksbee has stated regarding the Nottingham Forest predicament.

Forest is nearing the end of their season, and the four-point deduction provides some closure – though Evangelos Marinakis intends to appeal.

However, Hawksbee has heard a rumour about a possible appeal, and if what he says is true, Forest will undoubtedly think twice.

He also told TalkSPORT: “There is a strong rumour, and it may or may not be true and remains to be confirmed, it is only a rumour at the moment but if they do appeal they will get deducted a further two points if they do appeal.”

In our opinion, this cannot be true. Everton has appealed its 10-point deduction and will most certainly appeal if they lose any more points due to another charge.

    Hawksbee’s statements must be hearsay.

If this were the case, the Premier League would be guilty of making things up as they went along.

Everton appealed and received two and four points back, and clubs must have the ability to appeal the decision if they are dissatisfied with it.

Forest must now carefully consider their future steps, and if what Hawksbee has heard is correct, appealing might cost the team their Premier League spot.

Forest now has some closure, and with the clouds no longer above their heads, all they have to do is focus on collecting points on the board.
