On-loan Liverpool defender Calum Scanlon has suffered another injury setback while playing for Millwall
On-loan Liverpool defender Calum Scanlon is facing another extended stay on the sidelines after sustaining a suspected hamstring injury with Millwall. Scanlon, who is on loan at the Championship club for the season, was pulled off after just 17 minutes of the 1-0 win against Luton Town on Saturday.
The 19-year-old left-sided player had only returned to action the previous week, having missed nearly four months due to a back stress fracture received after making his Lions debut against Luton at home in September.
Scanlon’s injury issues have limited him to only four games for the London club, though he did score his first professional goal in a 2-2 Championship tie at home to Cardiff City on Tuesday.
The adolescent, who joined Liverpool from Birmingham City as a 15-year-old in February 2021, made his Reds debut from the bench in the Europa League home win over Toulouse in October 2023, and he also appeared as a substitute in the defeat at Union Saint-Gilloise two months later. He has appeared twice in a Premier League matchday squad.
