Leeds United defeated Sheffield United 3-1 at Bramall Lane on Monday night.

Ao Tanaka scored the Whites’ second of three goals, helping them come back from a goal down to win three points.

With the result, Leeds now lead the league by five points and are seven points ahead of Burnley in third place.

BBC pundit praises ‘Incredible’ Ao Tanaka in victory over Sheffield United.

Tanaka started the game in midfield alongside Ilia Gruev and had a solid contest, keeping things moving in the middle of the pitch.

However, his most vital contribution came in the 89th minute, when he put Leeds ahead when the game appeared to be heading for a draw.

While the visitors appeared to be menacing, they were unable to move above second gear for the whole of the game, but their players refused to give up and were rewarded for it.

On February 24, at 9:51 p.m., Newsome said on BBC Radio Leeds: “Wow.” What belief and determination – astounding.”

Daniel Farke will be delighted with the performance of his Leeds United squad.

Daniel Farke will be overjoyed with his team’s comeback victory over Sheffield United, which demonstrates their persistence and Premier League-caliber grit.

The Whites should have crumbled early after Illan Meslier’s blunder gave Sheffield the lead, but they recovered as a unit and proved their mettle.

Tanaka’s 89th-minute goal, sandwiched between goals by Junior Firpo and Joel Piroe, exemplified the team’s refusal to accept a draw despite being stuck in second gear for much of the game.

This comeback, capped by a third goal, demonstrates a team mentality that overcomes individual blunders.

Meslier’s error was swiftly forgotten as the squad rallied when it counted the most.

Farke will take this as proof that his Leeds players have the character to thrive under pressure, which is common among top-flight teams.

Leeds exhibited not only the skill but also the drive required to win titles, as they led the Championship by five points and were seven points ahead of Burnley in third place.

For Farke, this performance demonstrates that they are more than just promotion contenders, but also a club capable of competing with the best in the Premier League.
