During the summer transfer window, Chelsea will redouble their efforts to get Nottingham Forest defensive star Murillo.

In the just finished winter transfer window, Chelsea made an effort to sign Murillo because they were eager to strengthen their backline. Even if they were unable to reach an agreement with Nottingham Forest, the London team is still not giving up.

Football Insider reports that the Blues will make another attempt to recruit the Brazilian defensive sensation, who has established himself with his exploits in the English top division, by knocking on the Tricky Trees’ doors during the summer.

Murillo moved to England in the summer of 2023 after rising through the ranks at Corinthians and establishing himself with their first squad. Since joining Nottingham, he has only gotten better, solidifying his position as one of the Premier League’s top young defenders.

The 22-year-old has been instrumental in the Tricky Trees’ attempt to qualify for the Champions League. Over the course of his 23 league appearances, he has performed consistently. Numerous elite organizations want to sign him because of his efforts.

Chelsea will come back to sign Murillo

In the middle of the season, Chelsea did try to sign him. The Blues were searching for a young player with enormous potential in order to strengthen their defense. They had been considering Murillo, and since they think he would be a perfect fit for their project, they did try to get him.

Nottingham reportedly rejected a club-record offer for the 22-year-old center-back, despite the London club putting up an offer. With a new contract that extends until the summer of 2029, they even succeeded in securing his long-term future.

The Blues are still pursuing the Brazilian defender in spite of the new agreement. He is still a priority target for Chelsea, who are looking to bolster their defense. Even though Enzo Maresca’s team has a lot of money, they won’t have an easy time negotiating a deal with him.

If they are successful in securing Champions League football, there is a good likelihood that he will remain at Nottingham, given he has already signed a new contract.
