Nottingham Forest has addressed a number of positions this summer, with Evangelos Marinakis signing six new players.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been able to integrate them into the Forest squad relatively easily, with the majority coming before the end of the pre-season trip to Spain.
Forest’s attention is now fully focused on their Premier League opener against Bournemouth at the City Ground next Saturday.
The Cherries will now travel to Nottingham after losing their star player, Dominic Solanke, to Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Bournemouth are not the only team looking to potentially add a new striker to their roster in the coming days.
Forest is also looking to the market to improve their options, and it appears that there may be some developments in the coming days for one target in particular.
Forest striker might be heading to the Premier League
A new striker appears to be the only area where Marinakis has not made any additions this summer.
However, Forest have already strengthened their front line with the signings of Jota Silva and Eric da Silva Moreira.
However, the Reds are still seeking for more, after Forest’s bid for Porto winger Galeno was rejected during their friendly against Olympiacos on Thursday.
Forest are trying to acquire a new striker, as well as another winger, and one player’s future may change in the coming days.
According to Fabrizio Romano, developments with Feyenoord attacker Santiago Gimenez may occur sooner rather than later.
“Santiago Gimenez news?” “I believe there will be news for Santiago Gimenez in the coming days,” Romano remarked on his YouTube page.
“I expect movement surrounding Santiago Gimenez, and I believe he could end up in the Premier League.
“There is movement, I can’t say more, for now, but there is movement around Santiago Gimenez.”
Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Santiago Gimenez.
It has now been stated that Forest have made contact with the ‘excellent’ Santiago Gimenez this summer as they try to strengthen their striker roster.
The Mexico international had been linked with a move to Tottenham this summer, but that now appears to be off the table.
Forest could undoubtedly provide Gimenez with an opportunity to prove himself in the Premier League after a strong performance in the Eredivisie last season.
However, it remains to be seen whether he can be persuaded to join Forest, given that he may have expected to play European games with Spurs.
Forest and Gimenez have an exciting few weeks ahead of them.
