Radu Dragusin, a Genoa defender, is seeking to join Tottenham this month because he prefers to play in the Premier League.
In the previous week or two, the Spurs have been attempting to close a deal for Dragusin, and there have been numerous updates on the issue.
Tottenham has also moved to sign Timo Werner, and their attention is now focused on Dragusin.
According to reports today, the Spurs are now hoping to complete a deal for Dragusin within the next few days.
And Football helps to fuel that ambition. Alasdair Gold of London is covering the story.
Radu Dragusin wants to play in the Premier League after being linked with Tottenham.
Gold, who is currently writing a report on all things Tottenham, has suggested that Spurs have an ace up their sleeve when it comes to landing Dragusin.
Gold adds that the Romanian defender desires a move to England and is willing to turn down offers from other clubs, including Napoli, in order to join Tottenham.
This is, of course, wonderful news for Spurs and their manager, Ange Postecoglou.
The Australian wants fresh players in this month to help his team’s push for Champions League football, and defense is a priority for the club.
Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero’s injuries have affected their season slightly, and Eric Dier is rumored to be on his way to Bayern Munich.
Spurs get a boost
The Premier League cash is most definitely speaking here, especially when it comes to the salary Dragusin is likely to be offered.
Other leagues don’t seem to be able to compete with English clubs anymore, so it’s no surprise that Dragusin wants to join Spurs.
Of course, there’s more to life than money, and the fact that Tottenham are flying under Postecoglou is also likely a factor.
Spurs are anticipated to pay approximately £30 million to sign Dragusin, and considering his age and potential, it will most likely be money well spent.
