An EFL manager believes he knows the score when Leeds United face Southampton in the Championship playoff final this weekend.
The Whites’ season now hinges on one game, against the Saints, at Wembley Stadium this Sunday afternoon.
It will be a nerve-racking day for Leeds fans, especially given their poor playoff record – they have yet to win one.
However, following their dramatic 4-0 thrashing of Norwich City in the semi-final second leg, confidence is undoubtedly much greater than it was.
However, an EFL manager has forecast the score.
Darrell Clarke believes Leeds United will beat Southampton.
Speaking on talkSPORT’s EFL All Access podcast, Cheltenham Town boss Darrell Clarke predicted that Leeds would beat Southampton.
“I think it’s two very evenly matched teams and I think it’s going to be some individual brilliance that wins the game if I’m honest with you,” Clarke stated.
“I am not sure why I think Leeds will win. The Leeds manager’s experience moving up from that tier.
“And there are two clubs who we expected to be right there this season. I just think Leeds might have a little more greatness in the offensive areas to win the game.
