Adam Pope rated Leeds United’s transfer window as “underwhelming.”
It was a hectic summer for Leeds, with many players leaving and joining the club.
However, BBC Radio Leeds’ Pope was unimpressed with the Whites’ transfer activity.
While appearing on the podcast ‘Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet’ (2 September), Pope said, “We frequently use this language about signings being in isolation, sales being in isolation, or results being in isolation.
“I still stand by it; I believe the window is still a little lackluster since we don’t know the quality of the players and how they will perform.
“However, on first sight, hopefully, the recruitment team have gone out and got the players that are going to adapt very quickly to this level.”
Has Leeds United’s squad weakened at Elland Road?
It is difficult to say whether Daniel Farke’s group has improved since last season.
It would be unfair to assess or criticize some of Elland Road’s new players before they have had an opportunity to settle in properly.
The Whites have lost some vital players, there is no getting around it. Seeing Archie Gray and Crysnecio Summerville leave the club would undoubtedly shock fans.
However, this does not mean that some great talent has not been signed. Joe Rodon’s tenure has been extended indefinitely, and Manor Solomon provides the club with a forward with UEFA Champions League experience.
Farke is anticipated to make another promotion push this season. As a result, he will be hoping that his fresh acquisitions can have an immediate impact.
However, until a few months have passed, supporters should avoid making any rash decisions.
