David Prutton has made a prediction for Leeds United’s trip to Plymouth Argyle today.
The Whites will seek to make it eight wins in a row since the turn of the year, as their phenomenal run of success has propelled them into the top two.
Leeds will meet Plymouth for the fourth match this season, and the third in three weeks, having already met in the FA Cup fourth round earlier this year.
Leeds overcame Plymouth 2-1 in the return league encounter at Elland Road, but it took an extra-time replay to upset them in the cup, prevailing 4-1 at Home Park.
In his latest EFL predictions column for Sky Sports, Prutton feels Leeds will continue on their recent success with another victory today.
Prutton backs Leeds for another victory.
He said: “Plymouth will be very disappointed with how they allowed that late equaliser against Coventry on Wednesday night. But they’ll have to put that out of their minds since they’re up against arguably the finest club in the Championship right now.
“Leeds are in outstanding form. They completely demolished Swansea in midweek and appear unstoppable at the moment. There will be recent memories of being pushed all the way at Home Park in the FA Cup, but I simply cannot back against them right now. Away victory! Prediction: Plymouth 1–2 Leeds.”
Leeds had the luxury of finishing their midweek game at Swansea by half-time, allowing them to rest a few key players at the end, ensuring they will be fresh here.
Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville, and Willy Gnonto are all playing with a lot of confidence right now, which poses a threat to any defence in the division.
Plymouth, however, will be without Leeds loanee Darko Gyabi and former white Adam Forshaw, so it will be intriguing to watch how they set up, with manager Ian Foster unhappy with the match’s scheduling.
