According to David Ornstein, Nottingham Forest will next learn the results of its profit and sustainability charge, followed by Everton’s second decision.
On 22 February, an Athletic journalist claimed that, following the appeal procedure at Goodison Park, that will be the Premier League’s order of business.
Ornstein went on to say that the ongoing speculation about the rulings is not beneficial to anyone, particularly the other Premier League clubs.
In a Q&A for The Athletic, he stated: “I hear the Nottingham Forest case will come next, followed by Everton’s second charge, while some believe it is the other way around.
“Clearly, the speculation is not helpful to anyone and the quicker there is clarity the better – for the clubs involved and the Premier League as a whole.”

The second charge for violating profit and sustainability criteria is likely to linger in the minds of both Forest and Everton fans until the end of the season, when additional point deductions are due.

However, Simon Jordan has stated that Everton could face an even heavier sentence owing to the second charge, comparing the situation to repeating the same act after being released from prison.
Meanwhile, Alex Crook underlined that relegation was a serious possibility at Goodison Park if the club was found guilty of their second charge and given another point deduction as a result.
