Nottingham Forest has an unblemished start to the 2024/25 season, with one win and two draws in their first three Premier League games.
The Reds drew 1-1 with Wolves on Saturday, and now the focus is on international fixtures.
Forest currently has 13 players on international duty, including Morgan Gibbs-White, who has been called up to the England squad.
Forest have had several standout performances in the Premier League this season, and following a successful transfer window, they appear to be in good shape.
Ibrahim Sangare has been in terrific form, yet he continues to receive mixed opinions from fans.
John Percy delivers the verdict on Forest star Ibrahim Sangare.
Sangare has won the most tackles in the Premier League this season, with 15. Nonetheless, some advocates believe it falls short.
The Reds midfielder had a disastrous debut season at Forest last year, and a sickness caused him to lose weight and his place in the club.
Percy has now delivered some sympathy to Sangare’s doorstep as he seeks to remain grounded and prove his doubters wrong.
He told the Forest Focus podcast: “I have to admit that I feel terrible for him. I have to raise my hand and say that I feel really sad for him. I understand he hasn’t played his best football yet, but I believe his performances this season have shown promise.
“He’s not going to make headlines; he’s not like N’Golo Kante, who will take the ball from you and run 30 yards with it; he’s there to do a job. It’s almost like the Brian Clough quote, get the ball off someone and give it to someone else, and while that doesn’t detract from his passing, Sangare requires some patience.
“You have to remember the sickness he had last season, and I believe he lost three kilograms. “Some of the stuff I see on social media is a little unfair.”
Sangare needs patience and time in Forest.
The Ivorian is currently being treated unfairly. He’s made the most tackles in the league, but others still aren’t convinced.
Some of the criticism he still receives is ludicrous. Sangare has shown significant progress, and with more playing experience, he should continue to improve his performances.
At 26 years old, he still has time on his side, and it appears that some people still want him to perform things outside of his job description because he cost £30 million.
Percy has died right here. He’s doing his job, and some of the criticism he receives on social media is unusual at this point.
Thankfully, Nuno Espirito Santo does not choose his side based on social media comments, and Sangare hopes to continue driving hate down the throats of supporters this season.
