Leeds United are the only team in the EFL to remain unbeaten at home this season.
The Whites’ record was put to the test on Friday against Leicester City, as the Foxes led from the 15th minute until the 80th, wasting a number of opportunities in the process.
But Leeds refused to give up without a fight, and once Connor Roberts scored an equaliser out of nowhere, the game was only going one way, with Daniel Farke’s team completing a fantastic 3-1 victory.
Leeds have now earned 43 points from 17 matches at Elland Road this season, winning 13 of the past 14, after drawing their first three games.
Speaking on Sky Sports this morning, analyst Andy Hinchcliffe said he now expects Leeds to continue unbeaten at home for the remainder of the season, and he is very satisfied with the team’s balance.
Hinchcliffe predicts an unbeaten Leeds.
He stated, “The way they are playing, their dominance in games, not just winning, but also deserving to win games. You look at their performance data, predicted goals, and every game in which they are ahead. Leicester was the only one, but they won it in an unusual method in the final 10 minutes.
“They are dominating at home and away, and I expect them to remain unbeaten at Elland Road. The balance of their performances is excellent, with Gray and Ampadu moving into the defensive four from midfield and Gruev and Kamara into central midfield.
“The team appears to be more balanced than it was previously, therefore everything looks good for Leeds. Of course, Daniel Farke has experience promoting clubs and understands the pressure at the top of the table; their current form and league position are well merited.”
Leicester was certainly the most challenging of Leeds’ remaining home matches, given their outstanding away record, but there are still some stiff tests ahead.
Leeds still have Hull City and Sunderland to play, as well as fellow automatic promotion contenders Southampton, who will visit West Yorkshire on the season’s final day.
Regardless of whether Leeds go unbeaten or not, it has been a long time since they can truly call Elland Road a fortress, so credit to Farke and the players.
