‘I don’t think’: David Prutton now predicts the score when Leeds United face QPR tonight

David Prutton has made his prediction for Leeds United’s trip to Queens Park Rangers this evening.

Leeds will be seeking to make it back-to-back wins at the best time of the season, following a 4-3 triumph against Middlesbrough that put their automatic promotion bid back on track.

Despite just having three days to recover, a decision dubbed ‘disgusting’ by pundit Jon Newsome, it could actually work in Leeds’ benefit if they win.

It would put them four points clear of Ipswich Town in the chase for the top two, with two games in hand against Hull and Coventry City, so the pressure would be on to win both.

Leeds will be hoping to face a QPR side that does not sit in and defend as deeply as Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers, which is a style of play Daniel Farke’s side has struggled with.

Prutton reveals his prediction for the QPR versus Leeds match.

Ben Parker, one of Prutton’s old Leeds teammates, has already predicted that the Whites will win by 2-0.

Leeds’ front four were right back on it at the Riverside after going through a bit of a dry spell recently, according to Don Goodman. If this happens again, it could be too much for QPR.

The home team is practically certain to survive, but with relegation still a possibility, they cannot afford to lose focus.

On the most recent episode of the EFL Predictions Podcast, Prutton believes Leeds will have just enough to get the job done.

He said: “It’s been crunchy, crunch time for a while, but that result, Leeds really needed it, and it was a fantastic game against Boro on Monday night. Given what we’ve seen from QPR and what they’re capable of, they still need to do the arithmetic, even if there are some permutations that work in their favor.

“I don’t think Leeds will have an easy trip, despite having the greatest player in the Championship and a very solid group that appears to have returned to goalscoring form at the perfect time. Defensively, question marks from the Boro match.

“If you’re a Leicester fan, you’re looking for a Whites slip-up, but I don’t see it. Prediction: QPR 1-2 Leeds.

Early goal would be huge for Leeds.

Though QPR are unlikely to set up like Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers did lately, the game will not be as open as the one at Boro.

With that in mind, an early goal is usually crucial in games like these because it eliminates the chance of QPR having to camp on the edge of their own box.

Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto, Georginio Rutter, and Patrick Bamford all worked well together on Monday night, and maybe they will do so again tonight.
