Liverpool has gotten off to a flying start under Arne Slot, winning all three Premier League games.

The Reds are the only club in the Premier League that has not conceded a goal and has scored seven times, most recently defeating Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford.

Things are looking well for Liverpool under their new boss as they prepare to welcome Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday.

And Paul Merson expects the home side to maintain their dominance in the new season as they compete for the Premier League crown with Arsenal and Manchester City.

Paul Merson expects another Liverpool win

While the Arsenal icon agreed that the game is not a foregone conclusion, he predicted a 2-0 win for Liverpool based on their early season form.

“I expect Liverpool to win, but it may still be a difficult game. “I like what I’ve seen from Arne Slot’s players so far,” Merson said in his Sportskeeda column.

Following their strong start to the season, fans and analysts have predicted that the Reds will fight for the Premier League crown.

Merson believes they have all of the necessary traits, but injuries may limit their success in the title race.

He went on to say, “If they maintain all of their players fit, as I have stated before the beginning, I feel they have a chance to win the league.

“But if they do sustain injuries, things will start to look a little different, which could cause problems for Slot.” Last season, Manchester City won despite without having Kevin De Bruyne or Erling Haaland.

“Unfortunately, Liverpool lacks that type of squad depth. This emphasizes the importance of cautious player management.

While Merson feels Liverpool can challenge for the Premier League crown this season, Steve Nicol believes Liverpool is still trailing Arsenal and Manchester City, at least for the moment.

Things are looking positive for Liverpool.

Liverpool has looked quite good under Slot thus far, and they have adjusted nicely to his tactics.

While it appeared that a transition season was on the horizon following Jurgen Klopp’s departure, those concerns were quickly alleviated.

Slot has been described as a compulsive tactician with a good eye for detail, and his efforts on the training ground are definitely paying off.

If Liverpool continues to perform like today, another Premier League charge could be on the horizon at Anfield.
