Heitinga confirms Liverpool talks.
Liverpool are considering hiring him.
According to a MailOnline article on Monday afternoon, Liverpool is considering bringing Heitinga on board as part of Slot’s coaching staff. The former Everton player most recently worked with David Moyes at West Ham United, but he has now revealed that negotiations have begun with the Reds.
“I’m in talks with Liverpool. All I can say right now is that I’ve been approached and that my agent, Rob Jansen, and I are discussing it.”
Speaking to the journalists, Heitinga stated…
It may be viewed as a controversial move by the former Dutch defender, who previously worked for Liverpool’s opponents, but the 40-year-old is eager to build his reputation in coaching. Heitinga would find it tough to turn down the opportunity to work with Slot for one of Europe’s premier clubs.
Heitinga has spent the most of his coaching career with Ajax, where he previously played. The 40-year-old has managed U17, U18, U19, and U21 teams, as well as the senior squad for 22 games.
In September, Heitinga returned to the Premier League to join West Ham and Moyes. The two collaborated at Everton while Heitinga was a player, but they have since parted ways.

With Heitinga considering joining Slot’s coaching staff, the Liverpool manager is constructing a team he hopes will be capable of guiding him through his first season in the Premier League. Sipke Hulshoff, who previously worked with him at Feyenoord, has followed him to Anfield and will serve as his assistant.
Liverpool has also stated that Fabian Otte has joined the club and will be in charge of goalkeeping, while Ruben Peeters has joined as chief physical performance coach at the AXA training centre.
