Nottingham Forest defender Andrew Omobamidele was linked with a move away from the City Ground during the January transfer window.
Andrew Omobamidele moved to Nottingham Forest from Norwich City in the summer of 2023. Forest paid Norwich £11 million (The Athletic) in transfer fees to sign the 21-year-old Republic of Ireland international central defender.
On January 2, Tom Collomosse of The Daily Mail stated that Omobamidele was one of the Forest players who could move during the January transfer window.
Omobamidele had not played a single Premier League game under then-manager Steve Cooper. He has four starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League under Nuno.
And, as you can see below, the defender is delighted to be playing for Forest and eager to give his all every time he has the chance to play under boss Nuno.
Andrew Omobamidele expressed his support for Nottingham Forest boss Nuno
Omobamidele on the Shut Up and Show More Football podcast, stating that his uncle, Martin, is a huge fan of the club.
“When I used to visit at my grandparents’ house, I would stay in his room, which was filled with old Forest jerseys, some of the players, some of the trophies, and just images.
“It’s crazy how the world works. Obviously, I wasn’t thinking about it too much at the time, but now I’m playing for Forest. It’s as if the stars had aligned.”
The defender continued, “I’m enjoying and appreciating every minute of it. I’m truly enjoying the challenge, and all I wanted was the chance to participate. I’m a realistic person, and I understand that you have to work for what you get; there are no handouts.
“I’m happy the boss has given me the chance to play and, every time he gives me the chance, I’m going to try my best.”
